Diwali
Diwali is a Hindu festival of lights. It is one of the largest and brightest festivals in India. Diwali is a five day celebration. It is celebrated by Hindus in Britain and all over the world. Houses, shops and public places are decorated with small oil lamps. Door ways are decorated with Rangoli patterns and people decorate their hands too. Just like some of the celebrations we have - there is lots of different types of food eaten at parties.

Coconut Squares
Coconut Squares are a sweet treat which can be found at many Diwali celebrations.
We used condensed milk, icing sugar, coconut ice and pink food colouring. We each got to take a piece home to try!
