Creative Cakes!
Last week in art we focused on a painting from the collection 'The Four Elements' by Joachim Beuckalaer. This painting was created in the time that Shakespeare was alive. We talked about what we could see and what may be happening in the picture.
We love cakes!! They are definitely a non negotiable of any party or celebration!

Next we considered the food aspect. What could this all be for?
If we are having a party or a family gathering - what are our non negotiables? (Our list included crisps, sweets, cakes, biscuits, pizza... The list went on!!) |

🍰 Geometric Shapes
🍰 Mid Tones, dark tones and highlights.
We started off by drawing basic shape outlines corresponding to our chosen cake. Then we shaded our 'mid tones'. Each time we moved onto the next stage - we also moved places to work on another persons piece of work.
We continued to move places each time to complete our dark tones, highlights and background colours.
It was a rather challenging task! Both to draw and try not to eat our subjects!
